Thailand is one of my favorite countries. I have been traveling to this amazing place since the early 70’s. I love the people and their beautiful smiles. The way they live their lives: the Buddhist philosophy. Take a walk anywhere and listen to the sound of chanting monks and nuns in temples.
Thailand is one of the most prosperous countries in Southeast Asia. With beautiful beaches, lush jungles and cool tropical mountain ranges, Thailand is a popular choice for visitors of every inclination. A thriving tourism industry also makes it an excellent introduction to Asia for a novice traveler.
Travelling throughout Thailand offers visitors a good look at local life. The only country in Southeast Asia to successfully resist colonialism, Thailand has accepted and absorbed many aspects of Western culture on its own terms, managing to retain a national identity and hold its own in the global marketplace.
Aside from stunning rice-paddy vistas, fascinating ancient ruins, hedonist beaches and beautiful traditional artwork, the sensory delight of Thai cuisine is reason alone to visit this tropical paradise. The friendly, laissez-faire Buddhist culture gets foreigners hooked, many of whom return year after year.
The Thais love their King and portraits of their majesties are displayed in every shop. The national anthem is played in parks twice a day and in theatres as well. They are great hosts and are respectful of anyone they meet. Whether you have a low budget or a high one you can be sure that you will sleep in a clean environment and that you will eat the most marvelous food. The Thais are friendly and eager to meet new people. Where ever you go a smiling Thai will be there to greet you.
